Here’s why…
The issue of abortion is a contentious one in this day and age with the two main camps being pro-life and so-called pro-choice. Pro-lifers generally tend to be the Christian community whose moral standard is based on the word of God. Pro-choice adherents believe that the choice to end a life belongs solely to the pregnant woman and have no real base for moral ethics.
From a Biblical and Godly morality abortion is wrong and detestable in Gods eyes. The killing of unborn children goes against Gods creation of life which is sacred. One of the main arguments in favour of abortion is that the baby isn’t really alive because it is not yet breathing air. They have made their sin of murder more palatable by calling the unborn baby a foetus. For them it is easy to destroy a ‘foetus’ as this is not a baby. But this is a skewed view put in place to sear their conscience. Life begins at the moment of conception not at the moment of birth. The Bible says “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.” Jeremiah 1:5.
God intentionally created every single person who has ever lived as well as those whose lives were destroyed before they were given a chance to God-given life. Pregnant women do not own the life that is growing inside of them. Rather they are stewards of a new life given by the hand of God.
Again, the Word of God tells us that the life of a person is in the blood. A baby in the womb has blood pumping through its veins and therefore is alive. Genesis 9:4 “But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof…”
Anyone taking the life of another, which is called murder, shall be held accountable before God. Genesis 9:5 “And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man.”
The very first murder in human history is recorded in the Bible and tells of how Cain killed his brother Abel whose blood called out to God from the earth: Genesis 4:9 “And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? And He said, What hast thou done? The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.”
When a baby in the womb is murdered, the cry of its blood will not go unheard by God who created the life. America, the biggest supporters of Abortion, is guilty of killing more than 60 million babies in the last few decades and as if that wasn’t enough, there are those that are now advocating the killing of new-born babies up to 28 days old. No wonder God has taken his hand of blessing off of that country. And it’s not only America at fault, almost every single nation across the globe has either made abortion legal or has an underground element performing abortions for a fee. There is no Biblical support for abortion regardless of how the woman became pregnant and therefore it is wrong.
